We currently only offer Pain Management to patients who are attending Physiotherapy at our Clinic.
Our specialist practitioner, Karen Bradbury has extensive pain management experience in both the NHS and in private practice, and specialises in complex cases. At the Chorley Clinic, we are able to offer comprehensive pain management programmes designed to individual needs.
Our specialist practitioner in fatigue management is able to offer comprehensive programmes designed to individual needs, encompassing pacing, sleep management, stress management and the use of ACT/Mindfulness and other cognitive techniques for the management of chronic fatigue. We are now able to incorporate Alpha-Stim® for the treatment of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Fatigue at our practice.
Alpha-Stim® is a gentle, non-invasive treatment. Unlike some drugs, it leaves the mind alert. It uses tiny microcurrents, close to the level of electricity that naturally occurs in the body. The microcurrents produce residual and cumulative results that encourage the body’s systems to work better, such as improving circulation and helping the cells function. It helps to promote Alpha waves which lead to calm and alert feelings and these reduce the over-active ‘fight and flight response’ that increases pain and prevents restful sleep in fibromyalgia.
Alpha-Stim has been clinically evidenced as an effective treatment for all types of pain, long term chronic conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, and associated stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia. For further information of the extensive research base, please click on the link below.
Since 1981, Alpha-Stim® technology has been known for superior effectiveness in managing pain related disorders. Alpha-Stim® technology is nothing like TENS. The results are long-lasting and cumulative.
ALPHA-STIM® is an innovative treatment for pain, anxiety, depression and insomnia. The ALPHA-STIM® M treats acute, chronic, and postoperative pain, anxiety, depression and insomnia using a uniquely effective waveform that no other device has been able to emulate.
